Since the age of 7, Lydia knew that she wanted to focus on music. She studied voice, piano, and clarinet all through her school aged years. During high school, Lydia focused intensely on band and choral music, and concentrated on vocal training in college, performing in such productions of Barnum and The King and I. Originally from Battle Creek, Mi, Lydia relocated to Boston in 1999 to continue pursuing her dream. Once in Boston, she formed two original bands, sang back up and co-lead for others and recorded three CDs, which received great reviews. In 2007, Lydia had the tremendous honor of singing with the Boston Pops, and in 2009 and 2010 season, she was invited to sing the National Anthem for the Boston Celtics. She performed in the 2010 season of Community Auditions Star of the Day with high scores from the judges. Although, she leans more toward the Jazz/Soul genre when performing on her own, Lydia is classically trained and is very strong in other genres as well (Blues, Rock and more). Lydia performs regularly in various venues in Boston and the surrounding area. She also has her own band that performs at weddings and events in the New England area.
