FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Building its leadership team to address future growth, Real School hires Jim Keenan, former Director of YAMAHA’s flagship US education center.
BURLINGTON, MA, Sept 1, 2015 -- The Real School of Music LLC, a premier leader in music education, has today announced the addition of Jim Keenan as Director of Operations, expanding its leadership team of music industry veterans. In this newly created role, Jim will have complete oversight of all Real School operations, and will focus on staging the company for its continued geographical and programmatic expansion and growth.
Jim joins Real School from the Handel and Haydn Society where, as Director of Marketing and Communications, he led all sales and marketing efforts during the organization’s seminal 200th anniversary season. Previously, Jim served for 10 years as the founding Director of the Yamaha Corporate Music School in Lexington, MA. As Yamaha’s first company-owned music education facility and lab school in US, Jim took the school from concept, through design and construction, to ultimately delivering nearly 1,000 lessons per week.
“This is a very exciting time for Real School,” said Thomas Byrne, CEO. “As we expand our regional and national presence, and also roll out new businesses to reach underserved communities and revolutionize private music education generally, it was clearly time to expand our executive team and invite our longtime friend and colleague Jim to join the Real School family.”
Former customers familiar with Jim’s experience at Yamaha applaud the move. Winchester, MA resident and parent Rawan Angele commented, “In the last 6 years, I saw the exponential growth of the Yamaha School under the dynamic leadership of Jim Keenan. He built a talented and creative team of instructors with impeccable resumes and phenomenal pedagogy to educate our kids. Congratulations to Real School for investing in such a wise, long range, enthusiastic leader.”
“I’m proud to join Real School at a true turning point, where we can accelerate and realize the full potential of the vision, brand, and programs,” said Jim. “As a team, we’ll continue to work to expand and bring the most innovative business solutions and educational offerings to music schools, and music students, all across the country.”
